This person manages the activities related to intergovernmental coordination, facilities planning and land development of the district. Responsibilities include:
– Manages all activities related to the district’s facilities planning process; to include collaborating with district staff and various agencies to appropriately address planning and growth management concerns based upon changing demographics and changing trends in population.
– Manages and participates in the collection of data and the presentation of reports related to planning and growth management as required by federal and state laws and/or regulations.
– Represents the School Board in various matters pertaining to school planning and impact fees to ensure the best interest of the district is protected.
– Evaluates, recommends, coordinates, and performs due diligence in the acquisition, disposition, and/or exchange of district property to include contracting for appraisals, surveys and environmental studies as required.
– Provides recommendations on terms and reviews contracts for acquisition, disposition, exchange, and/or leasing transactions.
– Coordinates and manages properties leased from external entities.
– Coordinates and manages easement and right-of-way dedications, requested from other local governments, post-buildout.
– Assists in the preparation and update of the district’s capital master plan.
– Coordinates and completes 5-year district facilities Work Program as required by the Florida Department of Education.
– Coordinates site entitlement process and site planning process in cooperation with other departments and various agencies.
– Assists in development of Educational Specifications for prototype and individual schools.
– Assists in attendance boundary adjustment process.
– Utilizes current technology, as appropriate, to perform job functions and participates in training programs offered to increase technology skill level and proficiency related to job assignment.
– Performs related duties as directed.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
– Master’s degree in planning or related field
– American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) preferred
– Minimum five (5) years’ experience in growth and development planning within an educational institution or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
– Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License
