Planner II

The Planner II position performs a variety of complex administrative, technical, and professional work in collecting, organizing, analyzing, and presenting zoning, planning, and land development data. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local zoning, code, ordinance, and related development regulations. Identifies, evaluates, and participates in resolving land development issues including, but not limited to, private property, business/commercial properties, land use, and real estate development. Develops and recommends solutions consistent with the City’s comprehensive plan. Work is performed independently under limited supervision with moderate latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment. Position typically requires processing and interpreting of more complex, less clearly-defined issues.

Bachelor’s degree in planning, architecture, engineering, or related field; master’s degree in planning preferred; supplemented by two or more years’ directly related experience in zoning and urban/regional planning; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. Certification by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) preferred. Must have a valid Florida driver’s license.

 

Salary: $81,274 to 98,804 annually, dependent upon benefits selected.

Compensation will be based upon the level of experience.
