Salary $67,405 – $94,832 annually

 

MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
 
The County of Volusia is seeking a Planning Manager for the Planning and Development Services Division. This position is located in DeLand, Florida. The Planning Manager will be responsible for the professional, technical, and administrative work involving all phases of County planning and oversees all functions of the Planning and Land Development Regulation Commission and the Historic Preservation Board. Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to supervising and training personnel, writing and reviewing staff reports with findings and recommendations, managing the implementation and preparation of the County’s Comprehensive Plan, future land use map, writing ordinances, and conducting other long range planning related programs. Candidates with experience and knowledge of the Public Land Survey System, Zoning and Land Development Regulations, and State of Florida growth management laws are highly preferable.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
 
Master’s degree in Planning or related field, and five (5) years of experience in the field of public planning, including two (2) years of responsible supervisory experience. A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum requirements. An American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Certification is preferred.
