The City of Casselberry is seeking a Community Development Director who will be responsible for the administration, direction and supervision of the Community Development Department for the City of Casselberry. This position is responsible for the development of department goals, objectives and work programs for the various divisions of Planning, Code Compliance, Building Safety, Economic Development as well as oversight of the City’s Community Redevelopment District.

 

The Ideal Candidate

The City of Casselberry is seeking an individual with a demonstrated record of success and accomplishment to be the next Community Development Director. The ideal candidate will understand the importance of listening and understanding what people truly want and need before responding. He/she will be enthusiastic, personable and likeable with outstanding people skills. Customer service will not be just a catchy phrase but rather, along with integrity, a core principle and a way of life.

The ideal candidate will have at least five (5) years’ experience in urban and regional planning or related field including a minimum of three (3) years’ supervisory experience. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in urban or regional planning, Master’s degree is preferred. Must possess and maintain an American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certificate, or the ability to achieve within 1 year of employment.

Compensation

The salary range is $97,376 to $146,063 and the anticipated hiring range is $100,000 – $120,000 based on qualifications. The City of Casselberry offers well above average benefits including a retirement plan that consists of 11.78% employer contribution to a 401(a) and a 100% match up to 4% of salary to a 457(b).
