Planner II

Salary: $40,352 - $52,710

Description:
Responsible for researching, analyzing, and preparing comprehensive planning projects/reports in growth regulatory and environmental issues.

Essential Job Functions: Performs background research, interviews and surveys in areas such as environment, land use and economics. Prepares complex reports, charts, graphs, and maps which clearly and concisely express the ideas and recommendations being made. Reviews and analyzes complex regulatory ordinances. Makes recommendations for future actions. Plans and organizes work program for the most efficient performance of duties involved.  Reviews and analyzes Federal and State regulations related to environmental issues, land use planning, and growth regulations. Makes action recommendations.  Provides information to public and/or other agencies regarding comprehensive plan or land use issues.  Visits land development sites to groundproof aerial photos and verify planning recommendations. Coordinates and schedules meetings.  Assists/coordinates with Subdivision Review Specialist on subdivision/land use issues. Regular attendance.

Qualifications: Education: Bachelor\'s degree in Planning or a closely related field from an accredited university or college. Experience: Four (4) years experience in planning. Education may be substituted on a one for one basis. Licenses, Certifications or Registrations: Valid Florida driver\'s license and be insurable by current insurance carrier.
